Rainbow Puddles Cardigan
Construction:
Seamless top-down raglan cardigan.
Sleeves are worked in the round using intarsia (with instructions and video support).
The collar is added afterwards. All edges are finished with an attached i-cord.
Techniques:
Intarsia, colorwork, textured stitch patterns (knit & purl), attached i-cord.
Yarn:
Designed to be scrap-friendly
Use a high-quality yarn for the main color (garter stitch) and leftovers of similar weight for the color sections.
Recommended yarn weight: approx. 250–300 m / 100 g.
Yarn usage (approx.):
2–3 yrs: 200–230 g (MC 100–110 g + scraps)
4–5 yrs: 250–450 g (MC 120–130 g + scraps)
6–7 yrs: 300–500 g (MC 130–150 g + scraps)
Yarn usage will vary depending on yarn weight — lighter yarn requires less.
Gauge:
23 sts × 33 rows = 10 × 10 cm (4 mm needles, after blocking)
Knit a swatch (chart included), wash and block before measuring.
Sizes:
2–3, 4–5, 6–7 years
Finished measurements size 2-3 (4-5, 6-7):
Length: 44 (46, 48) cm
Chest: 66 (70, 75) cm
Sleeve (from neckline): 33 (45, 52) cm
Try on as you knit and adjust length as needed.
Skill Level:
Advanced. Basic experience with intarsia is recommended.
