These simple, yet pretty lace socks are an easy introduction to lace sock knitting. The lace pulls the fabric into a soft ripple, so it is great fun to knit with self striping yarn! They are knitted cuff down with a 1x1 rib cuff, have a slipped stitch heel flap and gusset for durability, plus optional anatomic toes for comfort.

Sizes: 1 (2)

Measurements: Approximately 19 (22) cm foot circumference after blocking. This measurement largely depends on how you block and wear your socks, but around 3-6cm of negative ease is recommended. Size can also be altered by the yarn weight you are using, and the needle size.

Needles: 2.25mm 80cm or 100cm circular needles for the magic loop method. This pattern is written with instructions for magic loop, but could be adapted to work with DPNs or 25cm circular needles.

Gauge:
Approximately 34 sts per 10cm in stockinette after blocking. Row
gauge is less important as you can knit to your desired length.

Yarn:
1 skein (100g) of fingering weight sock yarn should be enough for
most adult sizes. I suggest using a sock yarn which is wool-based and contains 20-35% nylon.
I used Schachenmayr Regia Perfect in colour 01735, which is 75% wool and 25% nylon
