Supplies needed:

7 skeins (20-50 g each) of soft fingering weight cotton yarn
A pair of circular knitting needles 2 mm (US#0)
Crochet hook or yarn needle for finishing
3 sets of small snaps or a small invisible zipper, needle and thread

Suggested yarn:

100% soft mercerized cotton is preferable. I used Milford Soft Knitting and Crochet Cotton Yarn (50 g / 222 m or 243 yd, 3 ply). DMC Petra Crochet Cotton Perle No. 5 is, probably, the closest alternative. You will not use up the 50 g ball, only a little is needed for each stripe.

Gauge:
In stockinette stitch with 2 mm (US#0) knitting needles my gauge is 17-18 stitches and 24 rows in 2 inch (5.1 cm) square.
