This pattern (Rainbow Wall Hanging) is a beginner level pattern that uses the popcorn stitch. This tapestry project is perfect if you need to use some leftover yarn. The sample used nine different yarns that vary from worsted weight to bulky. It’s a very versatile pattern and the creator can choose to change the colors, or change the length.

Materials:
5 mm (US H) hook
20 inch long dowel 5/16 inches thick
Worsted weight yarn (see amounts below)
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker

Yarn:

Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice, medium weight #4 yarn (100% acrylic; 170 yds/156 m per 3.5 oz/100g skein)
Scarlet-38 yards
Terra-cotta - 31 yards
Kelly Green - 21 yards
Electric Blue - 19 yards
Electric Purple (I used this for the indigo section)- 14 yards
Dusty Purple - 7 yards
White - 32 yards

Knit Picks Brava, sport weight #2 yarn (100% acrylic; 270 yds per 100g skein)
Canary - 25 yards

Loops and Threads Charisma, bulky #5 yarn (100% acrylic; 109 yds/ 100m per 3.5 oz/100g skein)
White - 40 yards

Measurements:
The finished size, at its widest is 20 inches ( with the dowels) the hanging itself is 13 inches at the widest point (the red section). It is 19 inches long, not including the hanging string.

Gauge:
6 popcorn sts x 6 rows = 4” / 10 cm

(this was the gauge I achieved, however it’s not really essential to the pattern. If the gauge is slightly different the wall hanging will either be a little larger or a little smaller.
