You will need

approx 100Grams of DK yarn in Yellow,
50 Grams of DK yarn in Red
4mm crochet hook
Sewing needle.

Gauge for this pattern is not important, but you are aiming for a nice firm fabric. This pattern is written in British Crochet Terminology
