ETA: As requested, I am also posting my notes here.

I handspun about 2/3 of my roving into a soft bulky-weight. The other third was spun a bit tighter into a finer single. I strung the beads onto some matching sewing thread. I then plied the thread and fine single together spacing #8 glass beads randomly. Then I plied the heavier single with the plied beaded yarn.

The cowl is just a tube. I cast on 72 stitches on size 10US circular needles. I knit 6 rows of Garter stitch, then stockinette stitch until I thought I might run out of yarn, then finished with 6 more rows of Garter.
