RAINDROPS is a simple raglan pullover with bottom-up construction and an interesting pattern of twisted stitch lines and bobbles on the front.
You will first knit sleeves and body bottom-up, then join them together after separating stitches for the underarms. After that a few short rows with partial raglan decreases will be knit to shape the neckline and you will proceed decreasing the stitches along 4 raglan lines.
The measurements listed below are for the final sweater after washing (and blocking if you block your garments, in which case you also need to block your gauge swatch). The pattern and the yardage has been given for an average height of approx. 165 cm/ 5 ‘ 5’’ and a sweater measuring just above the hip. Please adjust the lengths according to your individual body measurements.
Sizing: The pattern comes in 7 sizes 1 (2, 3, 4) (5, 6, 7) with sweater bust circumference measuring 92 (100, 111, 119) (129, 140, 151) cm / 36.75 (40, 44.5, 47.5) (51.5, 56, 60.5) inches.
Ease of wear: The sweater is meant to be worn with anywhere from 5-20 cm / 5-8 inches of positive ease. The sample is shown in size 3 with 20 cm / 8 inches positive ease.
Suggested Yarn: 1 strand of Plutolopi (100 g - 300 meters/ 328 yards) and 1 strand of Drops Kid Silk (25 g - 210 meters/ 230 yards) held together OR other heavy worsted/ aran weight yarn.
When choosing your yarn for the project, it is best to avoid any slippery yarns like worsted spun merino, superwash yarns or yarns containing mulberry silk. The elongated stitch bobbles on the front of the sweater will look best if knit in woolen spun yarns or yarns with addition of brushed alpaca or mohair, that will allow the strands of elongated stitches stick together when forming a bobble

Yardage: Approx. 820 (900, 945, 1100) (1250, 1370, 1400) meters / 897 (984, 1033, 1203) (1367, 1498, 1531) yards of each Plutolopi and Kid Silk OR of single strand heavy worsted/ aran weight yarn.

Gauge: 15 sts/ 20 rnds per 10 cm/ 4 inches in stockinette in the round on size B needles (after washing and blocking)

Needles: Size A - 80-120 cm Circular needles - 3.5 mm (US 4)
