The name of these socks is based off of a quote by the character Spike in the Television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

“Now, I know you haven’t been in the game for a while, mate, but we still do kill people. Sort of our raison d’etre, you know.”

Raison D’etre means: the most important reason or purpose for someone or something’s existence.and is pronounced: Ray-zon Det-ra

This pattern was designed for Leading Men Fiber Arts using the Spotlight Base in the Avery Colorway.

These socks feature an open lacy pattern, cables and ribbing that gradually changes from toe to foot to leg. This pattern has charts as well as written directions.
