Our fall-forward mosaic houndstooth hat is the perfect quick knit to showcase your favorite high contrast color duets. It’s the ultimate in cozy color and texture!

One size/Height is adjustable

One circumference, two lengths: beanie (slouchy) hat. Approx. 18” circumference x approx. 9.5 (11.5)” tall, to fit a 20-22” head.

On Sarah:
Slouchy length in colors:
Color A: Big Birdie in color Frog Rock,
Color B: Tod Worsted in color Kitten.

On Bob:
Beanie length in colors:
Color A: Tod Worsted in Cinder,
Color B: Elmer Tweed Worsted in Cork.

VARIATION: Knit a non-fluff version using The Lamb & Kid Tod Worsted paired with Dimond Laine Elmer Tweed Worsted. Our beanie-sized sample shows Color A as Tod Worsted in Cinder with Color B as Elmer Tweed in Cork. We knit with the same needle sizes and to a similar stitch gauge. Your row gauge will be more condensed though, so where the pattern reads “Repeat Pattern Rounds 1-8…” you’ll knit four more times for a beanie with this yarn combination and six more times for a slouchy hat.

Please note these are yarn estimates. The amount used will depend on yarn, your personal gauge, and any modifications you make.
Color A: Dimond Laine Big Birdie (79% alpaca, 21% silk, 174 yards per 100g); 1 skein.

Color B: The Lamb & Kid Tod Worsted (65% yak, 35% cashmere, 114 yards per 50g); 1 skein.

Worsted-weight yarns in the following amounts:
Color A: 80 (95) yds / 73 (87)m,
Color B: 40 (50) yds / 37 (46)m.

Needles listed are suggested.
Gauge Needle: US 8 (5mm) 16” circular and double-point needles.
Ribbing Needle: US 6 (4mm) 16” circular needle.

Darning needle; 3 markers, including 1 unique marker for BOR.
