This shawl starts like a tradional asymmetric shawl and could stand alone in this shape if a smaller shawl is desired. Color1 and Color2 alternate in this section. Non-working yarn can easily be carried loosely along the faux i-cord edge as it hides nicely in the curl or cut and woven in at each change. Short rows are used to create desired shape and are worked in garter stitch sections. This means that the wrap does not need to be hidden, it will automatically blend in with the garter stitch.

An asymmetric crescent is created by picking up stitches along the outer curve and continuing with crescent shaping.

Stitch patterns used include garter, seed stitch, and simple eyelet patterns. Colors can be used in any order desired. Sample alternated light, dark, light, dark to create high contract between sections but could easily be worked “in order” to create a “fade” look.
