Reminiscent of meandering through a meadow filled with wildflowers, Ramble is a bias triangle shawl that incorporates double-row stripes paired with a flower-like variation of the spool stitch. It has lovely texture play between the smooth Fern and Fluffy Zephyr bases.
Assigned Pooling occurs when a change in stitch and texture is assigned to changes in color within a skein of variegated yarn. Stockinette Stitch is assigned to the main color to create a striped backdrop for the spool stitch assigned to the accent color.

Yarn 1 skein Springfield on Barker Wool Zephyr (or the Assigned Pooling colorway of your choice),
& 1 skein of Staghorn on Barker Wool Fern (or the tonal colorway of your choice).

Finished Measurements 25” deep at center point x 75” wide after blocking

Gauge 24 STS x 32 rows = 4” x 4” in Stockinette ST

Additional Equipment A scale that measures in grams

Ramble uses two different types of yarn, Fern and Zephyr, to provide contrast in texture. Choose similar colors for subtle stripes, or pick ones with high color and value contrast to accentuate the boldness of the stripes.

Assigned Pooling is a way to embrace color pooling by letting the color changes have control of the texture pattern.
