The inspiration for the Rambling Roses Wrap lace design was from a stitch pattern called Fleurette in A Treasury of Knitting, by Barbara Walker. The author adapted this stitch in her book, A Fourth Treasury of Knitting Patterns, and called it Floral Mesh. The stitch pattern is similar to one used in traditional Shetland designs, Rose Trellis Lace.

To gently shape the wrap in a semi-circle, the right edge section (shown in photo on left) is worked in garter stitch, which has a denser ‘rows per inch’ than the lace section.

Yarn: Shelridge yarns 80/20 Fingering Hand-Dyed, 80% merino/20% nylon Handpaint, 1 – 115 gr skein, 425 yds (388 m)

Approximate finished and blocked size:
Width: outer – 65 in; inside – 40.5 in; Height: 9 in
