Worked top-down, with a flap and gusset heel for improved fit, these socks feature my favourite no-graft toe closure. The pattern offers 9 sizes, covering kids to the largest of adults. I’ve used the fully Canadian, non-superwash Barn Swallow Sock Yarn from Small Bird Workshop, a warm and wonderful blend of wool and mohair, which you can read more about https://www.digitsandthreads.ca/canadian-made-sock-yarn-a... here.

For fun and flexibility, you’ve got a few options for how to work the socks. The pair as shown are, shall we say, fraternal rather than identical twins. On the one sock, the cable swings left, on the other, it swings right. And I’ve placed the cable on the back of the leg and down the heel of the one, and down the instep of the other. Mix and match the details as you want, create matching pairs or not!

Pattern stitch is written out and charted.

Choose a size with .5 - 1 inch negative ease.
