The first time I drove past Rattletrack Road in Springston, Canterbury, New Zealand, I was knitting the prototype of this pattern and wondering what to call it. A lightbulb went off in my head because, well, it just fits doesn’t it?

This gorgeous scarf is a super easy to remember pattern of plain garter stitch, narrow stripes and simple eyelet lace. You increase on one side and decrease on the other to produce a parallelogram that is looong for extra wrapiness. It’s so easy to wear! I usually find the centre and hang that from the back of my neck, then swing each side around the back and back down the front again. Easy peasy!
