This pattern is a heavily modified version of Peggy Pignato’s ‘Weaver’s Wool Mini Shawl‘. The edging is a traditional Shetland edging except that it’s worked in garter stitch, just like the rest of the shawl. The math has been reworked and the edging adds a nice simple finishing touch so that the shawl isn’t just useful, it’s pretty as well.

There are two different sizes that refer to the neck width, as the cast on edge encircles the neck; A (10.6in/26.5 cm) and B (13.25in/33cm) each will fit necks up to 15in/37.5cm and 18in/45cm; respectively. The difference in the sizes is achieved by using different gauges. Within these 2 sizes there are 2 different sizes; medium shawl, and large shawl. For neck A, the bottom edge of each size measures: 50.6, 70.6 inches; 126.5, 176.5 cm. For neck B, the bottom edge of each size measures: 63.25, 88.25 inches; 158, 220.6 cm.

Yardage is the same, but lace/light fingering weight yarn is used instead of the fingering weight yarn.
The gauge is tighter at 20sts x 40 rows=4in/10cm square, with a smaller needle size; US 5/3.75mm.
