Reborn is the fourth design of my Ffrench Collection: a series of designs inspired by the music of composer Alexis Ffrench. This sweater features stranded colourwork with two colours across the majority of the yoke and into the upper body and sleeves, with an additional decoration of colourwork above the sleeve cuffs.
The patterns are designed to reflect the key elements of the piece of music “Reborn”, which features light, cascading notes combined with larger swells of melody.

This garment is worked top-down, in the round. After the neckband, short row shaping is incorporated to optimise fit. The majority of the yoke features a stranded colourwork pattern. Once the yoke is completed, stitches are separated into body and sleeves, which are each worked separately and in the round. The stranded colourwork pattern continues into the upper part of the body and sleeves, after which each are worked in stockinette.

SAMPLE
The wearer is 5’10” / 178 cm with a 37” / 92.5 cm chest circumference. The sample has been worked in size L, giving the wearer 7.25” / 18.5 cm of positive ease at the chest. To accommodate the wearer’s height, the yoke depth has been increased by 0.5” / 1.5 cm and body and sleeve lengths have been increased by 1” / 2.5 cm.

SIZING GUIDE
This garment is graded into sizes XS (S, M, L, XL) (2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL). Recommended positive ease is 2-10” / 5-25 cm at the chest circumference.
Finished Garment Chest Circumference: 33.25 (37, 40.5, 44.25, 48) (51.75, 55.5, 59, 62.75)“ / 83(92.5, 101.5, 111, 120) (129, 138.5, 147.5, 157) cm.

GAUGE
Using 3.25 mm / US size 3 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 26 stitches over 32 rounds in both stockinette stitch and colourwork, blocked, creates a 4x4”/10x10 cm square.
Neckband, waistband and cuff circumferences assume you are working 7 sts per 1” / 2.5 cm.

YARN
The sample has been worked using Pixie Yarn’s Sock Fingering Weight base (75% Superwash Merino / 25% Nylon; 425 m / 464yds per 100 g) in colourways Thor as the main colour and Lolligag as the contrast colour.
