Explore new stitch patterns with one skein of yarn without knitting swatches or getting bored. Simple combinations of knit, purl, and slip stitches create visually interesting textures that stand out in solid color cotton yarns. Reward yourself with an everyday heirloom — or knit them as gifts for house warmings, renovations, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, or other happy occasions.

A consistent gauge is not critical for this project. Instead, variances among gauges become a design feature.

The sample towel knit with 1 skein of Dishie measures approx. 11 3/4 X 16 in with scant yardage left over. Both the length and width can be modified, but additional yardage of Dishie is needed to accommodate increases greater than the pattern instructions.

The Recovery Towel is knit in a sequence of horizontal “bands” of stitches (like horizontal stripes) from the bottom to top. A Master Plan provides an outline of the pattern in a table format. Row by row instructions for knitting each band are also given.
