The Regency red cable knit fingerless gloves pattern is perfect for anyone who loves to knit cables.

• DESCRIPTION

The mittens are knit flat, with the top side featuring a broken cable design and the underside in stockinette stitch.

The thumb section is then knit in the round.

Yarn needed –

1 x 100g skein of Cascade 220 – color 2413 Red.

100% Peruvian Highland wool/220 yards/200 meters.

This is a worsted/Aran/10 Ply yarn weight.

Substitute with any yarn suitable for the needles sizes listed.

Needles

4mm (US 6) Knitting needles.

4.5mm (US 7) Knitting needles.

4mm (US 6) and 4.5mm (US 7) 9″ or 16″ circular needles are needed for the thumb section.

I used my interchangeable circular needles on a 40cm/16″ cable.

I did not join in the round to knit the main section of the mitt.

I did join in the round to complete the thumb section and used the magic loop technique.

Cable needle 4mm (US 6)/4.5mm (US 6.5) size.

Level – Intermediate

This is an intermediate-level knitting pattern and the techniques involved are the knit stitch, purl stitch, ribbing, cable stitches, knitting in the round, short row shaping, casting on, and casting off.

Seaming – the main mittens are seamed and there is a tutorial link in the pattern to help you.

The thumb is knit in the round.
