DK or worsted weight yarn, in two contrasting colors.
Adult: Approx. 125 yards main color & 87 yards contrast color
Baby: Approx. 77 yards main color & 35 yards contrast color
I used Rauma Petter, Superwash 4-ply DK weight 100% wool ~ 109 yds/skein
Adult: 2 skeins 325 Pumpkin (MC) & 1 skein 302 White (CC)
Baby: 1 skein 302 White (MC) & 1 skein 309 Medium Teal (CC)
Size ~3 needles; 16” circular (tip to tip) + a 2nd pair or DPNs
One can be ~30” for picking up cast-on edge & used as magic loop for finishing.
also recommended: tapestry needle, stitch marker & scrap yarn.

This hat is knit with a provisional cast-on to create a double layer band, and increasing some stitches before beginning the color chart. Decreases for the top are worked into the color chart.
