This was designed to be an easy and relaxing project, especially good for summer travel. The fabric is lightweight and airy, yet provides warmth on chilly summer evenings. It uses a two color star stitch pattern the whole way through, creating an interesting lace texture. The sample used three colors that effortlessly blend into each other.

I used three skeins of fingering weight yarn. My sample was with a superwash merino, but you can easily substitute for your favorite fiber. I used all of each skein.

Yarn: Fingering Weight, superwash merino

Sample uses:

House of A La Mode ‘House Fingering’ (400 yds / 366 m per 100g skein);1 skein Daffodil (color A), 1 skein Thistle (color B), 1 skein David Rose (color C)

Yardage Requirements: 1200 yards: 400 yds / 366 m of each

Needles: US 5 (3.75 mm) 32” / 80 cm circular needle or larger

Gauge: 32 sts x 12 rows = 4 in / 10 cm in two-color star stitch taken after blocking. Gauge isn’t terribly essential for this project so if your swatch is a little different but you like how the fabric feels, go for it!

Finished Measurements: 68” / 173 cm wide x 62” / 157.5 cm deep
