Inspired by walking the path of supporting a friend through the journey of caring for their loved one with Alzheimers/dementia, I wanted to create something that would give them some comfort during this journey. For the yarn, I choose Estelle Colour Flow, a chunky weight yarn, that is light as a feather, whilst being super soft. The design is mostly garter stitch, with increasing rows of eyelets. The eyelets represent those memories that go missing with the memory loss and Alzheimers/dementia. I hope this shawl provides comfort to those caring for a loved one.

A portion of the proceeds from this pattern will go to the Alzheimer’s Society of Muskoka.
