There is something absolutely magical about waking early on a crisp winter morning and discovering that the world has transformed! The metamorphosis of the drab winter world of browns into shades of blue edged with a silvery white coating of hoarfrost is simply breathtaking. I grew up in Nova Scotia and I remember as a girl waking up to this predawn silvery world where the reòthadh-liath, a Gaelic word for hoarfrost, had turned my drab little world into a fairytale.

A simple crescent-shaped shawl knit in stockinette stitch and embellished with garter stitch, eyelet mesh, and encrusted with an edging of optional beads. The shawl begins as a straightforward, relaxing knit, but it ends with an enchanting beaded edging that will transform your world when you wear it. A lovely size for draping around the neck or wrapping around your shoulders to ward off the winter chill.
