This scarf is the crocheted version of the Christmas at Sea’s knit Seafarer’s Scarf. It uses short rows to create the warm ribbing around the neck.

Note that this scarf is designed to safely fit underneath a mariner’s safety jacket. For “civilian” use, you may wish to make it a bit longer by extending it by 10-15 stitches at each end.
