Rest Area Shawl
The original REST AREA shawl was inspired by my Give Me Strength Blanket & designed in DK weight Yarn . Fast forward to 2024 when I experimented with using a SINGLE SKEIN of FINGERING WEIGHT YARN, because I was unwell - but still wanting to knit, preferably on something I could pick up & put down easily….
Before I knew it I had I cast off one shawl & was casting on another, & I actually ended up knitting 5 in about a month! The whole experience was really therapeutic, & SO MUCH FUN - especially when I discovered to my great delight, that self striping/patterned yarns worked brilliantly in this design.
I hope you enjoy knitting up your own Rest Area Shawl & that the experience proves to be a welcome time of respite when you feel you might most need it. Full instructions are provided for you to knit it to the length you require, since it’s also a design that may be stopped at any point by following simple guidelines given in the pattern.
(& just quietly, this pattern would be great for social & travel knitting.)
