Restväst
Do you have a mountain of leftover yarn? Then the Rest Vest is the perfect project for you! And here comes the fun part: you have total creative freedom to use your leftover yarn exactly as you want. Stripe, mix or knot small scraps together. Combine different yarn weights from lace to worsted, as long as you meet the gauge. Go bananas and make something fun!
The original Swedish name for this pattern is Restväst. In Swedish, “rest” means leftovers and “väst” is vest, so it literally translates to Scrap Vest. While thinking of a good name for the English version, I realized that if an English-speaking person tries to pronounce the Swedish word Restväst, it sounds exactly like Rest Vest! Since the pattern is designed to use the “rest” of the yarn you have at home, the name for the English pattern became obvious. Happy coincidence? I don’t think so!
