This is a fun retro frilly sock that comes in sizes for all ages and lots of options to customize! These were inspired by the iconic “bobby socks” from the ’40s & ’50s, that made a resurgence in the ’80s!

The frill can be knit with just sock yarn, sock yarn & 1 strand of mohair, or just 2 strands of mohair. The design also includes instructions to knit ankle socks without frilll.

This pattern is written so that even a beginner can knit it without difficulty. It has lots of detail and additional instructions and explanations, as well as a corresponding knit-along tutorial for the heel.

This pattern does NOT require Kitchener stitch, but does include a modification if you prefer this toe method.
