The Crocheted Retro Scarf from Crochet from the Heart is made up of mini granny squares in bright, playful colors. Since the scarf is worked one block at a time, you can easily adjust it to be shorter or longer by simply subtracting or adding more blocks. The pattern also features a simple start technique to keep each corner nice and tidy! A crocheted edging that follows the entire perimeter of the scarf completes the design.

This pattern calls for 1 skein each in four different colors of plum, pink, orange and white. The pattern can be modified to use your own combination of colors.

Each finished block is approximately 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 inches after blocking. The pattern calls for 12 blocks, but you can add more squares for a longer length.

The book includes instructions for the simple start technique on p. 8 that keeps the starting corner of each block tidy.
