This is a FREE knitting pattern for my Retro Style Beanie.
The pattern requires the use of 2 strands of 8ply (DK) yarn at the same time to achieve the chunky look.

This pattern is for a slouchy oversized beanie and has sizes Small, Medium and Large but it will fit most sizes and is really flexible. I have included 2 lengths for your beanie but the length can be adapted as you wish. Just add more or less rows to the body of your pattern!

The needle’s used are 8mm (US11) circular needles with a 50cm (20”) cord. The gauge for this pattern is 12.5sts and 18 rows over a 10cm tension square.

You will need between 3-4 balls of yarn but it is dependant on the size of your beanie and whether you would like to add a pom pom or not. All the yarn amounts and colours can be found in the pattern. I have included 9 different pattern options but you can always knit the beanie as you wish!

I hope you enjoy this pattern. It is extremely adaptable to your preferences so there is an infinite number of combinations for you to try!! Remember to tag #Retrobeanie so I can see your results!
