This design originated as a companion pair to my Outward Bound pattern, wanting to use the same two yarns but in a different way. The socks are worked from the top-down, beginning with an optional, but highly recommended, folded picot edging. Then the contrast colour is introduced and the very simple technique of helical stripes is employed on the leg and the foot. The heel section is worked in the main colour only, as are the toe decreases.
