Reusable Easter Egg
Tired of storing or repurchasing breakable, bulky plastic Easter eggs for your egg hunt? These reusable Easter eggs might just solve your problem. This pattern includes stitch charts and written instructions for four sizes of egg, so that you can create the right size for any treat. The double fold pocket design keeps your treats secure the whole egg hunt long!
Each egg is constructed in one piece, with a single length of yarn, to make the process as quick and easy as possible. Once it’s constructed, the egg is folded and secured together with single crochets. There is no sewing, and at the end you should only have one thread to tuck.
Yarn Needed:
Any worsted/4/medium weight yarn
Small: 20 yards
Medium: 30 yards
Large: 40 yards
Extra Large: 50 yards
The Small Egg:
The Size Small should fit anything a disposable plastic Easter egg can! Make the size small if your egg hunt treats include things like:
A couple of tootsie rolls
A laffy taffy
A fun sized candy bar
The Medium Egg:
If you want to hide some bigger treats, then consider the medium. This egg will fit things like:
A hot wheels car
Dum Dum lollipops
A full sized Reese,s (individually wrapped)
The Large Egg:
The size large is ideal for little kids who need a lower difficulty egg hunt, or for hiding small toys. Large egg prizes might include:
A dinosaur action figure
A mini pack of Cadbury eggs
A calico critter
The Extra Large Egg:
Looking for a centerpiece for your Easter basket? The Extra Large egg would be perfect for:
A gift card
Pens or highlighters
A phone charger
