These socks are cast on for the cuff and worked in the round with panels of German Herringbone running down the back and the fron. The heel flap is worked flat with the heel turned on these stitches. Stitches are picked up along the edges of the heel flap for the gusset. The gusset and foot are then worked in the round towards the toe. After the toe shaping the sock is closed by grafting the stitches together. All sts are slipped with yarn to the back of the work. Sts are slipped k-wise on the RS of heel flap to give a neater finish.
