This afghan is enormous thanks to the use  of full fisherman’s rib. The cabling is identical on both  sides so the afghan is completely  reversible.

YARN, GAUGE, SIZE AND MACHINE:  The sample was knitted on a Passap dm80 with 2 strands of 2/24 acrylic yarn are knitted together through a single feeder. About 2.25 lbs.  In total are used to knit an afghan that measures about 65” square. Fisherman’s rib is a  stretchy flexible fabric so it’s hard to get a precise gauge but approximate gauge,  counting only the stitches on one bed is 2.75 stitches/15 rows per inch in fisherman’s  rib on a standard gauge machine. Use any gauge of machine that can achieve full fisherman’s rib. Fisherman’s rib effectively combines the properties of tuck and rib.
