These mittens are completely reversible and worked in double knitting. The back of the hand is simple, even unassuming, but on the inside of the palm you find a leonine surprise. The pattern is for one size only but it fits medium to large female and small to medium male sizes. Outer width of the mitten is 23 cm (9 in) and length from the bottom of the palm to the tip is 19 cm (7.5 in).

Some experience of, or tutorials for, double knitting are recommended; though the instructions have been made as easy as possible.

You’ll need equal amounts of a suitable yarn in two colors, approximately 140-170 meters (150-190 yards) each of DK/Sport weight yarn, depending on how tight or loose your knitting is. The gauge should be 26 stitches and 36 rows on 10 x 10 cm.
