This hat is named for the beautiful Sabino Canyon sunrises that we have here in Tucson, AZ. Sabino has been one of my favorite places to go since I was little, so it was fitting to make a hat that is inspired by such a meaningful place.

It’s a very simple hat that works a few increased rounds, 6.75” on the body and then the ribbing. However, when I made it, I realized that the wrong side is just as pretty as the right side, so the pom pom is made to be removable so that the hat is reversible. This is a great hat for learning how to crochet a hat and is customizable to whatever size you need. Simply measure as you go and you’ll have the perfect hat! There is also a video tutorial to help you as you go along.

The yarn used is by Lion Brand - it’s the Mandala Ombre in the color Serene. It’s a medium #4 weight and the hat uses only about 75% of the cake.Although the yarn is 100% acrylic, it’s super soft and easy to work with.
