This pattern includes instructions for both the straight ribs and spiraling ribs, with circumference sizes of small 19-20”, medium 21-22”, and large 23-24”

This is a reversible hat in as much as it can be worn with either side facing out. There is no right or wrong side; you can wear it inside out or outside in! One side will show a raised texture, the other a smoother texture. It can be as long or short as you wish it to be. You choose how many colors to use - one, two, three, or more! BUT THE COLORS WILL NOT REVERSE!!! Where the colors are on one side is where the colors will be on the other side!!!

Once you understand how the pattern works, it’s also easy to play around with the spacing between the rib strands to come up with different looks, such as two or three strands together separated by two or three single crochets.

The first and third pictures show both the smooth side and the raised side of the ribs, second picture shows both the straight and spiraling ribs, the fourth and fifth pictures are “closeups” of the two textures with straight ribs, the sixth picture is of the spiraling rib strands.

The seventh picture is the stitch placement of the sc to get spiraling strands, the eighth picture is the stitch placement to get straight strands. Note the difference between these two pictures of where the hook is placed in relation to the sc body from the previous row!!!

I used a US-J10/6.0 mm hook. Feel free to change your hook size for different sized results.

Please let me know if you have any problems or questions!
