Rewild is a tubular cowl, worked in the round to create a long, thin tube, featuring stranded colourwork throughout the length. A colourwork pattern is repeated up to 14 times to create an eye-catching accessory that wraps cosily around the neck either once or twice, according to personal preference.

SAMPLE
The sample cowl has been worked using Botanical Yarn’s BLF/Nylon 4ply base. It uses Colourwork Option 1 (see YARN below for more details) and uses 10 colours in total to achieve desired length. Sample length is 45.5”/115.5cm.

SIZING
The pattern is written in one size. Finished measurements before joining ends of cowl together are a maximum length (based on 14 repeats of the colourwork pattern) of 63.5”/161.5cm and a circumference of 14.75”/37.5cm. This creates a cowl that wraps around your neck twice. However, the cowl can easily be customised to achieve your preferred length by working fewer repeats of the colourwork chart.

YARN
The cowl is designed for fingering / 4ply weight yarn, although DK weight could also be used with fewer repeats of the colourwork chart to achieve the required length. The pattern offers two options for your yarn choices:
Colourwork Option 1: use up to 14 different colours, where each yarn colour takes turn as the main colour and the contrast colour (as in the sample pictured).
Colourwork Option 2: use one main colour throughout the cowl with 1 or more contrasting colour(s) used in the sections of colourwork.

GAUGE
Using 3.25mm / US size 3 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, and fingering / 4ply weight yarn, 26 stitches over 30 rounds in stranded stockinette colourwork, blocked, creates 4x4”/10x10cm.

YARDAGE
Colourwork Option 1:
Up to 14 colours, each of 18g / 76.5m / 83.75yds (based on 14 repeats of the colourwork chart).
Each repeat of the colourwork chart requires ~9g / 38m / 41.5yds of each colour.
Colourwork Option 2:
MC: Up to 140g / 595m / 651yds (based on 14 repeats of the colourwork chart). Each repeat of the colourwork chart requires ~10g / 43m / 47yds of MC.
CC: Up to 98g / 416m / 456yds (based on 14 repeats of the colourwork chart). Each repeat of the colourwork chart requires ~7g / 30m / 33yds of CC.
