Rhubarb Fizz Shawl

The Rhubarb Fizz shawl is a long crescent shawl with a tucked stitch pattern and a slightly flouncy short-row garter border. The tuck stitch is fun to work and produces a lovely lacy fabric for the main body of the shawl. The shawl is knit from the middle bottom, the crescent shape is created by increasing on both edges of every row.

Requirements and Information:
Yarn Requirements: 150g 750m light fingering yarn or 200g 800m fingering weight yarn
Sample was knit in Knitting for Olive Pure Silk in the colour way Rhubarb Juice
Needles: 3.5 mm, US 4, with a cable long enough to accommodate a large number of stitches
Notions: crochet hook for provisional cast on, 2 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: 18 sts and 44 rows for 10 cm/4” over lace pattern after blocking; while gauge is not so important for this pattern, getting a different gauge could mean that you use more yarn or don’t get the same drape in your finished item.
Measurements: after blocking, front depth: 47 cm/18.5”, wingspan: 200 cm/80”
