This pattern is a good combination of challenge and easy relaxed knitting. The first part of the pants will require focus to set up the ribbing, complete short rows and increases for the gusset, and divide for legs. After that, it’s a good Netflix and chill project because you are just working in the round same number of stitches to finish each leg.

The pants are worked from top-down in the round.
The waist ribbing is started as a provisional cast on, then folded and connected.
Then short rows are worked to shape the back rise.

Work is divided and each leg is worked separately.
Each leg is finished with a couple of rounds of K1, P1 ribbing, then two rounds of double knitting and tubular bind off. Ties are completed as i-cord after the pants are finished.

Difficulty level: Intermediate.

Knowledge and comfort with the following stitches and techniques are recommended: Knitting in the round, Increasing, Decreasing, Short rows, and Tubular Bind off.
