Ribbon and Twigs Hat has been designed to help complete beginners feel comfortable with fair isle knitting.

If you look at some of the completed test knits you’ll see lovely hats from people who have never done colourwork =D

The pattern is suitable for someone who has never done stranded knitting before and begins very simply with tiny floats, it then moves up to the more open floats. As the pattern mimics itself in the bottom and top sections, this allows for confidence from practice.

The borders play homage to Christmas ribbon and the twigs to represent open fires, and wreaths.
