Lighter weight yarn worked at a larger gauge may seem at first glance to produce a too-loose fabric. But highly textured sections of star stitch offset by ordered columns of slipped rib stitches provide plenty of structure and excellent drape, even with DK weight yarn. And don’t shy away from variegated yarns; star stitch will highlight the color changes.
