This Riffle Ruffle Baby Blanket is a relatively easy knitting pattern consisting of only knit, purl, k2tog, p2tog and knit in front and back stitches, making it great for the motivated beginner knitter. Video links are provided to assist with the different stitches, if needed.

For this blanket it is important to use a larger size needle than indicated on the yarn label. The blanket will become thick and the knitting may become too stiff/tight/dense if this is not done.

Different weighted yarns can be used for this baby blanket. Please note that if you should use a different weighted yarn, the measurements might differ. For this blanket it is recommended us use DK yarn with recommended needle sizes of 4mm(6US) or 4.5mm (7US).

Kindly adjust your material requirements accordingly and remember to use larger needles than recommended, as mentioned in the pattern.

This pattern can be adjusted in width by adding or reducing the amount of stitches in 2s, as indicated in the pattern. Cast on stitches will always be an uneven number of stitches to start with. (Multiples of 2 +1)

With the specific yarn, each 13 stitches cast on will equal approximately 10cm/4’. You do double the amount of stitches in Row 1 so please ensure your needles are of a sufficient length.

The length of the baby blanket can be adjusted to your desired length by repeating the sections, as indicated in the pattern, until you reach your desired length.

The pattern is written in English only.
