The sample scarf is made using two colors, but you can make your scarf using one color, two, three or four or more colors if you like. Also, I like to change colors every 4-20 rows. You can change colors more frequently so that your stripes are more narrow or change colors less often for wider stripes. Just remember that the more color changes you make, the more ends you will need to weave in when you are finished. Also, I like to begin with one color, gradually making the first color rows narrower and the second color rows wider until I end with 24-36 rows of the second color (see Figure 2), so that you can reverse the scarf (turn it inside out) to display one or the other color.
