I have designed a warm winter wrap with a splash of color to brighten up the cold dark winter days. The design is inspired by the waves of the river Rijn and the rolling hills of the landscape surrounding it.

The tested design uses 5 colors of Scheepjes Stone Washed yarn and has a triangular shape in which the colors are alternated. The pattern is worked with a 4.0mm (US 6/G) hook to obtain a warm fabric. My completed wrap is 150cm (59 inch) wide and 75cm (29 inch) deep.

The colors and yarn amounts for the wrap as shown in the sample is 9 balls of Scheepjes Stone Washed in the following colors:

  • Color A – Crystal Quartz (814) x 2
  • Color B – Amazonite (813) x 2
  • Color C – Lemon Quartz (812) x 1
  • Color D – New Jade (819) x 2
  • Color E – Green Agate (815) x 2

The rolling hills and waves are made by rolling over stitches. In the pattern I explain how to make the stitches, but maybe you prefer a visual guide. I have a video showing you how to make the one row in which we roll over the stitches.

This pattern is written in standard US crochet terms and Dutch crochet terms. Skill Level is an advanced beginner due to the rolling stitches, but with the video I hope that everyone will be able to make the wrap.
