The Rikke hat matches the namesake cowl with the same two cable patterns, although worked in a different order. Knitted from the bottom up in the round. There is no bind off, you just cinch stitches together with tapestry needle and secure on inside of hat.
Two sizes, 9/10” in height and 19/21” circumference. Written and charted pattern.

Yarn
A single Spots cake in a colorful speckled aran weight yarn. It’s got little flecks of colors and fibers added to give it personality.
97 yards/100 grams per cake.

Notions
US size 10 (6 mm) circular needle
16” (42 cm) in length.
4 Stitch markers, one being different to make beginning of rounds.
Cable needle.
Tapestry needle or crochet hook for finishing.
Optional pom.

Gauge
11.5 sts and 16 rows in 4” of stockinette stitch, unblocked.

Techniques applied
Knitting and purling in the round, increasing, cable knitting (see Abbreviation block for details), cinching stitches together, weaving in ends. Adding optional pom.
