Nebulae are some of the most beautiful things in the universe, their gorgeous colours and shapes created by giant gas clouds.

Why not knit your own little ring or planetary nebula as a super cute gift for the astronomer in your life? This is just one of my range of astronomy themed designs, including planets, moons and stars.

The ButterflyLove Ring Nebula knitting pattern gives you clear step by step instructions and it only involves knitting flat. This pattern is suitable for a beginner/intermediate knitter.

You can also contact me at any point if you need technical advice or have any other queries.

What you will need:

2 knitting needles (US3/3.25mm or as per tension advice)
2 knitting needles (US8/5mm or as per tension advice)
5g black yarn for centre (e.g. Stylecraft Special DK 1002 ‘Black’)
5g novelty yarn for ring (e.g. Sirdar Firefly Metallic ladder yarn)
Two black plastic toy safety eyes - 9mm
Polyfil toy stuffing
1 tapestry needle for finishing

Skills used: Casting on and off, Increasing and Decreasing

Stitches used: Stocking stitch, garter stitch

The suggested yarn for the ring has been discontinued, but you can still get balls of Firefly on Ebay, etc. However, mohair and other novelty yarns would be great substitutes.

The pdf file will be made available for download once payment has been received.

This pattern is sold on the condition that it will be used for personal use only, e.g. making gifts for family and friends, not for commercial purposes.
