Named for the scenic highway that hugs Iceland’s coast, the Ring Road Cardigan puts a new twist on classic Icelandic style. Slipped stitches are used for the color work, thus adding texture and taking away some of the difficulty of Nordic knitting. (Only one color per row, no stranding!)

The body is knit back and forth in one piece, the sleeves are knit in the round and attached seamlessly when you reach the armpits.

Difficulty: Advanced Beginner/Intermediate

A relaxing knit for experienced knitters or a suitable first cardigan challenge for advanced beginners. Knitters should be able to knit both flat and in the round, increase, decrease, knit, purl, slip, and pick up stitches. Reading charts is optional, as are the pockets, which may be the trickiest bits for the less experienced knitter.
