A Rio Grande style Chief’s Blanket woven by my friend & life-long mentor Norman Kennedy inspired this design for the Happy Trails Socks book.

The Shaman’s Hat motif comes from the Tlingit tribes of Alaska, and is charted in reverse for the 2nd sock. Fairly easy Fairisle, no long floats. I included instructions for this sock (or any sock, as it happens) as a mukluk in the book, and some other color choices are also included.

Happy Trails Socks was a booklet available from the Wooly West. The book is now out of print.
