I created this scarf for the Regina Queen City Fibre Festival, The scarf is inspired by the prairie landscape I’ve always called home. It celebrates the mesmerizing prairie wind and the way it ripples through water and endless fields of wheat, canola, and flax. Just like those fields, Saskatchewan’s fibre community is alive with its own ripples of creativity. Happy knitting, whether you’re making the scarf or the cowl!

This a great project for a one of a kind yarn. We all have those special skeins in our stash that we hold on to for just the right project. I designed the scarf to easily adjust to the yardage you have. A striking chevron pattern runs throughout the scarf, giving the illusion of a complex stitch design. In reality, it’s a simple knit 2, purl 2 repeat—ideal for knitters who are comfortable with basic stitches. The chevrons resemble cables but without the complexity of traditional cable work. The edges of the scarf are edged with a two-stitch cord.

The possibilities are endless for this scarf. I have knit the scarf in several different weights from DK to a fingering.
