Ripples Short Sleeve Top
A great top for warm summer or spring & autumn. Short to elbow length sleeves, knitted in 8ply (DK) cotton. The borders of body and sleeves are a combined lace and cable pattern created to look like ripples in water. The lace cable pattern runs up both sides to the under arms. This would be great knitted in an ocean blue in a tribute to the beauty of water movement.
Knitted in the round to under arms where front and back are divided to continue flat. Sleeves are knitted separately and can be lengthened or shortened as desired. The body is finished with a double rib neck band to tie in with the prominent rows of stocking stitch of the borders.
If you like mindless knitting for trips, the body of this top is stocking stitch knitted in the round. Perfect for a few hours drive.
Photographed on a 44.5 inch mannequin and will fit with some ease a 41 inch bust.
To increase or decrease size, addition or subtraction of lace repeats are required.
Gauge of gently blocked garment is 20 sts x 24 rounds of stocking stitch.
200g balls (425m) x 3 needed.
An alternative neckline could be i-cord, very nice.
