The ‘Ripples’ Socks are a beautiful modern colourwork pattern. Fun to knit and easy to remember …

They are knitted ‘top down’: cast on at the cuff, then worked in the round splitting for a classic heel construction with a heel flap and wrap and turn short rows. While you pick up stitches along the side of the heel flap you return to knitting in the round and a gusset is worked through decreases. You finish the socks with a band toe.

Leg and foot are knitted in colour work, holding not more than two colours at a time. The colour work part is presented in charts.

’Ripples’ socks are fitted and desiged with negative ease. Sizes range from GER 36 to 45 / US 5 – 12 / UK 3,5 – 10,5. Bigger sizes have more room in circumference adding to comfort.

The pattern is suitable for any 4 ply / fingering weight sock yarn that fits the gauge 10 x 10 cm = 36 sts x 32 R.

You will need up to 3 different colours and use up approximately …
